Universal Detection Logic
How is it possible to support over 1000 websites? LinkGrab doesn't just rely on hard-coded scripts for each site. Instead, we use an advanced Metadata Discovery Engine. When you paste a link, our backend performs a headless navigation of the target URL to identify OpenGraph tags, JSON-LD structured data, and direct media stream patterns (HLS/DASH).
This "blind detection" capability allows us to support niche blogs, news sites, and local media portals that other tools have never even heard of. If the media is delivered via standard web protocols, LinkGrab can intercept and package it for your download.
Privacy & Access Boundaries
While our support list is extensive, we maintain strict boundaries to respect user privacy and platform security. LinkGrab cannot and will not attempt to download content behind paywalls, private accounts, or restricted groups. We only facilitate the saving of content that is already publicly accessible on the open web.
